MIWG Demo in Seattle

The Object Management Group (OMG) hosted the annual MIWG (Model Interchange Working Group) meeting in Seattle, on December 10th, 2018. Leading software vendors demonstrated live the iterative elaboration and interchange of a BPMN model using their respective tools that implement the BPMN standard.

This year the meeting’s focus was on data modeling and on using the Call Activity functionality. Each vendor was responsible for a portion of the modeled process. We started by designing the chain and draw the first elements. We then exported the work in BPMN format and uploaded it to a shared Dropbox folder. Another vendor imported our file into their BPMN tool and added their portion to it. We parallelized part of the work and at the end of the iterations the whole process was ready.

By doing so, we demonstrated that BPMN is definitely a language that can be shared on different platforms. Our tool performed really well and showed that BeePMN can read and write the standard correctly. Watch the demo, so you can see how we performed compared to our competitors.
